For all the major technical upgrades and technical innovations of the gold industry, our institute provided strong technical supports such as the development of shotcreting and bolting support, hydraulic cut-ant-fill mining, and mechanized narrow-vein mining technology；introduction and application of the whole-slurry cyanidation and CIP process；development and commercial application of the thiourea gold extraction and gold extraction from sulphuric acid calcine; development of integrated utilization of the resources of associated gold in multi-metal ores and old gold contained tailings. Environment protection treatment of cyanide-conaining wastewater and dumps of gold mines.Especially in the area of utilization of the refractory gold resources, taking use of the achievements by the national key projects of “The Ninth Five Year Plan”and “The Tenth Five Year Plan”, industrial demonstration bases in Liaoning and Guizhou were set up，the project of Liaoning Tianli Gold Industry Co., Ltd. using bio-oxidation pre-treatment method to handle the refractory gold concentrate containing arsenic and sulfur, and the project of Guizhou Jinxing Mine Co., Ltd. using roasting method to handle the refractory run-of-mine gold ore containing arsenic, sulfur and carbon. Among these the project of Liaoning Tianli Gold Industry Co., Ltd. reached the production target at the end of 2003, and the technology has reached to the leading level in the world by continuous improvement. The project of Guizhou Jinxing Mine Co., Ltd. started operation in 2006, and it is at the stage of commissioning.
