Treatment of Cyanide-containing Wastewater with
Activated Carbon as Catalyzer
This invention involves in oxidation treatment
of cyanide-containing wastewater with activated
carbon as catalyzer. It includes pre-treatment
of cyanide-containing wastewater, catalyzed oxidation
treatment and post treatment of activated carbon.
This invention takes use of the huge surface area
of the activated carbon to strongly adsorb the
oxygen in the air and the cyanide in the wastewater
first, then under the catalyzing function of bivalent
copper ion, non-toxic ammonia and carbonate are
formed after reaction. This invention improves
workers’ labour load and operation environment,
and guarantees treatment effect. It is siutable
for for those gold mines in romote area to treat
cyanide-containing wastewater, due to its low
cost and simple technique.
