The Method
of Recovering Sodium Cyanide from Solutions Containing
Cyanide and Thiocyanate
This invention is a method to recover sodium
cyanide from solutions that contains cyanide and
thiocyanate, which belongs to a method for recycling
use of sodium cyanide. It is operated in the following
order: precious metals recovering, barren solution
pretreatment, cyanide reclaiming from the barren
solution, sodium cyanide recclaiming from thiocyanate,
arsenium treatment, and recycling use of the filtrated
solution after further treatment of the cyanide.
Adopting this technique to treat the solutions
containing cyanide and thiocyanate, the recovery
of precious metals can be up to over 95%, the
recovery of cyanide from the barren solution can
be up to over 99.5%, the recovery of sodium cyanide
from thiocyanate can be up to over 85%, the total
recovery of cyanide is greater than 94%. After
treatment, the arsenic value reaches the standard
for disposal, and the total cyanide reaches the
standard for disposal as well.
